Within Rizal, is Elephant Hill at Barangay San Pedro.  Elephant Hill is an archaeological landmark of world-wide significance due to the recent discovery of fossil remains dating to around 709,000 years ago.  Fossils of extinct stegodons, rhinoceros, crocodiles and the Philippine brown deer were found at this location.  Evidence of stone tools were also found here proving early hominin presence.
